Texas Sales Agent Requirements
In Texas Real Estate Salesperson Exam Lesson 1 we discuss testing requirements including:
Scheduling the test.
Pearson VUE (online/phone)
You can only schedule a test once you have 180 classroom hours of real estate education.
Finding a testing center (including on military base center)
Creating an account
Scheduling an appointment
Accommodations for people with disabilities (separate room, extra time, reader/recorder)
Real estate practice tests are available for purchase, as well as study guides
Before the Test
Get sufficient rest.
Set alarms and make sure you are planning sufficient travel time.
Study in intervals. Do not leave it to the last minute.
The day of the test.
Eat a hearty meal, but do not drink too much.
Make sure you have a government-issued picture ID
Leave early.
Bring only authorized materials. No phones/devices. Only approved calculators.
Test is electronic only and is multiple choices.
There are different versions of the test, called forms.
There is a state examination and a national examination.
Answer the questions you know first and then go back to spend the remaining time on the questions for which you are unsure.
Narrow down the answers and pick the best answer.
Take your time and make sure to read each question completely.
After the test.
Exam results for either “Pass” or “Fail” sent to you a few weeks after the test.
To pass, you need 56 questions correct on the national test and 21 questions correct on the state test.
After failing three times, you will required to do 30 additional hours of real estate education.
